Updated Look And Feel vs. Re-Implementation

Updated Look and Feel vs. Re-Implementation One way to update the look of your Cherwell instance(s) is to do a Look and Feel Upgrade.  This type of upgrade changes the forms and the look and feel of your Cherwell instance to the 9.6+ UI that Cherwell has developed.  It does NOT bring over the special updated content of newer versions of Cherwell (such as the Change Management updates, the Problem workarounds, etc.).  However, you will get the updated Platform features, such as adaptive layouts and the Activity Pane when you do this upgrade.  The other way to update the look of your Cherwell instance(s) is to perform a re-implementation.  A Re-Implementation gets you all of the new Platform and Content features that Cherwell has placed into the specific version that you are re-implemnting.  In short, you are creating an entirely new Cherwell system of the version you request and then bringing some of the data into that new system. It is much more difficult and time consuming than performing a Look and Feel Upgrade, however, there are some definite benefits to doing a Re-Implemntation.
