A globally renowned Japanese instant soup manufacturing company, who developed the world’s first instant noodle soup, with strong presence in Mexico, Brazil and Colombia. The client required comprehensive digital transformation due to multiple isolated systems and an outdated ERP system. 

Assessment

An Assessment was made to their current operations. During the assessment, all the client’s business processes were documented and compared to standard functionality of Dynamics 365 Business Central as well as Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management.

After validating standard functionality, our recommendation was to implement Dynamics 365 Finance and SCM in order to reduce the number of developments required and consolidate isolated systems into one solution, leveraging standard functionality of the system.

Our deliverable was evaluated in Japan´s HQ and received approval for the first migration of the Group. Positive results in this project will result in a global rollout.

Solution Approach

To address these challenges, the client decided to adopt the most robust solution of the ERP Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management, managing production by formulas and with advanced warehouse management (WMS – Warehouse Management System) providing complete control of manufacturing. Additionally, by using updated technology, new interfaces were developed to connect specialized systems and thus always maintain communication and visibility of information. 

Results

The client obtains real-time visibility of their information, allowing them to make more accurate decisions.

  • With Master Planning implemented, the client had an Improvement in replenishment by having inventory control and more accurate sales forecasting.
  • Improvement in the inventory process by using handheld devices and advanced warehouse directives, guaranteeing cost savings in labor costs and forklift use.
  • Improved quality processes by having the history of test results.
  • Improved R&D control of new flavors.
  • With the implementation of Production by formula, the client had a significant improvement in the Standardization of production of the different products.
